Long Money Lending
Terms of Service
Last updated: 14 October 2026
Everything you give us is confidential.
Your ID or passport, selfie, payslips, bank statements, proof of address, driver's licence, banking and card details, and every answer on your application are confidential. They are stored securely and seen only by you and authorised Long Money staff. We share them only where your loan needs it — such as a registered credit bureau for your credit check and your bank for the debit order — or where the law requires. We never sell them.
These terms apply when you use the Long Money Lending website and online application. By creating an account or applying for a loan, you agree to them. Please read them carefully.
1. About us
Long Money Lending, [registered company name and registration number], is a private lending company — not a bank and not a government agency. It has applied to the National Credit Regulator for registration as a credit provider; our NCRCP number is pending approval. We will not grant any loan until this registration is approved. Contact us at [email address] or [phone number].
2. Who can apply
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You must be a South African citizen or permanent resident with a valid SA ID, or a foreign national living in South Africa with a valid passport and permit, or an asylum seeker or refugee document.
- Foreign nationals must also provide a visa or permit (passport holders) and a police-stamped affidavit as proof of address.
- Your ID, passport, asylum or refugee permit, visa and driver's licence (if you add one) must not be expired. Expired documents are refused, and you cannot apply while a document is expired.
- You must have a regular income paid into a South African bank account.
2A. What every application needs
- All loans (short-term, personal, long-term, grocery and business): your ID or passport; proof of income (payslips, proof of business income, or a grant or pension letter) and bank statements for the months your loan type requires (1 to 12); a selfie taken with your phone; proof of address; and, if you have one, your driver's licence.
- Payslips, bank statements and proof of address must be no older than 3 months, with the full date (day, month and year) visible.
- A next of kin: a family member's name, relationship, phone number, ID number and home address. You may only give their details if they have agreed.
- Business loans also need the business's SARS tax number, its website and its SARS tax documents (such as a tax compliance status PIN letter or the latest notice of assessment).
- Your payday, the bank account repayments come from, the type of bank card on it and only its last 4 digits, and your agreement to a DebiCheck debit order.
- Your permission for a credit check, and confirmation that everything you gave is true. Giving false information or documents is fraud and may be reported to the police.
- After you submit, you can download your own copy of your application form. If approved, you also get your quotation, credit agreement and statements as PDFs.
3. Your account
Keep your login details private. You are responsible for activity on your account. The information and documents you give us must be true, complete and your own. Giving false information or someone else's documents may lead to your application being declined and may be reported to the authorities.
4. Applications and approval
- Submitting an application, or passing our eligibility pre-check, does not mean your loan is approved.
- Every application is subject to identity verification, a credit check and an affordability assessment, as required by the National Credit Act.
- We may ask for more documents, and we may decline an application. If we decline, you may ask us for the main reason.
5. Calculators and estimates
Repayment amounts shown by our loan calculator, loan cards and AI advisor are estimates only. Your actual interest rate, fees and repayment will be set out in your pre-agreement quote and credit agreement, which you must accept before any money is paid out.
6. Your credit agreement
If your loan is approved, a separate credit agreement will set out the full cost of credit, your repayment schedule and your rights, including your right to settle early. That agreement governs your loan. If anything in it differs from these terms, the credit agreement applies.
7. Repayments by debit order
When you apply, you tell us your payday and agree that, if your loan is approved, repayments will be collected by debit order (DebiCheck) from your bank account on your payday, as soon as your salary is paid in. You will be asked to approve the debit order mandate with your bank. The amounts and dates will be set out in your credit agreement. If you cannot make a repayment, please contact us before your payday so we can help.
8. Using the website
- Do not misuse the website, try to access other people's information, or interfere with how it works.
- All content, including the Long Money name and logo, belongs to Long Money Lending and may not be copied without permission.
- We try to keep the website available and accurate, but cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Privacy
We handle your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.
10. Complaints
If you are unhappy, contact us first at [email address] and we will try to resolve it. If you are still not satisfied, you may contact the National Credit Regulator (ncr.org.za) or the relevant ombud.
11. Changes and law
We may update these terms from time to time; the latest version will be on this page. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and nothing in them limits your rights under the National Credit Act or the Consumer Protection Act.
12. If a customer passes away
- Each application asks for a next of kin: a family member's name, ID number, phone number and address, given with their agreement.
- If a customer passes away, their next of kin or family should tell us on the online Report a death page and upload the death certificate and their own ID.
- We then put debit orders on hold and claim what is still owed from the deceased's estate, through the executor or the Master of the High Court.
- Family members are not personally responsible for the loan unless they signed a written guarantee (suretyship) for it.
- Everything the family sends us (the death certificate, their ID and the executor's details) is kept confidential and used only to settle the loan.
